It felt like spring this morning. There was a birdfight and the window was open for a little breeze. The sky is blue and the light filters through the blinds, casting a long golden bar on the floor. Is it New Year’s Eve, really?
I’ve written a lot this year, more than 150 posts, and not all of them are good or insightful. Sometimes they’re eh. But as Hemingway said, for every 99 pages of shit I write, there’s one page of gold.
Next year on the eve of 2013 I may very well come back to this post and re-read the old stuff and remember how young I was. But there’s something to be said for that, for the growth and memory, and return to those old epochs of my life.
Here are my ten favorite blog posts of 2011. I’ve chosen them for their variety, for the original feelings that inspired me to write them, and for general outstandingness, in my own mind. Feel free to disagree.
