Bushwick Open Studios ’11

Bushwick Open Studios is the biggest avant garde art party of the year.

The L train wasn’t running past midnight but we didn’t let that get us down. We went to Norte Maar on Friday night and saw some cool stuff. Stuff I shot rotated to the left ninety degrees.

Saturday we went to Andrew Birk‘s studio. He’s way cool. He wore an American flag tie and an Oregon medallion and there were other Portlanders there too. American flag Budweisers too. I nearly stole Solyi Suh’s autobiography but felt good that I didn’t when she gave me a Polaroid of a garden. There was a dance party.

A successful open studios indeed.
